Former New Orleans Saints linebacker Parys Haralson has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 37. The cause of death is unknown.

The Saints acquired Haralson in a trade for a seventh-round draft pick with San Francisco prior to the 2013 season after Haralson had missed the entire 2012 season with a triceps injury.

Haralson played for the Saints in 2013 and 2014 to close his nine years in the NFL. Haralson played in all 32 games in those seasons, including 20 starts and appeared in two playoff games for New Orleans.

Cam Jordan took to Twitter to praise his former teammate.

Haralson spent the first seven years of his career with the 49ers, whom he worked for after his retirement from the game.
