LSU men’s basketball is active in the transfer market just like every other Division I school this spring as players change locations at a record rate.

Add to that fact the need for head coach Will Wade to replenish his roster due to players like Trendon Watford, Javonte Smart, Darius Days and likely Cam Thomas declaring for NBA Draft.

With that in mind, the Bengal Tigers have added a talented SEC performer from the Tigers in the East division.

Missouri guard Xavier Pinson announced Monday that he is transferring to LSU. The 6-foot-2 junior was Mizzou’s second leading scorer last season, averaging 13.5 points on 42.6% shooting and 33.6% from three as a starter in every game. He added 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds per outing.

LSU must have made up serious ground with the Chicago native in the past week since he had previously named four finalists for his transfer that did not include the Purple and Gold. In fact, Pinson eventually chose LSU over Kansas.

Pinson, who has two years of eligibility remaining, scored 14 points in a loss to LSU in Columbia, Mo. this past season.
