Former LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne appealing four-game NFL suspension
Former LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne is a veteran NFL free agent. If and when he signs with a team, he won’t be able to play right away.
NFL,com reports that Claiborne will have to serve a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He is already appealing the ruling.
The Fair Park (Sheveport) alum starred at LSU, winning the SEC Defensive Player of the Year honor as well as the Thorpe Award as college football’s top defensive back after his junior season. He entered the NFL Draft in 2012 and became the sixth overall selection of the Dallas Cowboys.
Claiborne spent the past two seasons with the New York Jets.
