The First Tee of Greater New Orleans Announces Partnership with Walmart, Coca-Cola Bottling Company United and Partner Brands

New Orleans, LA (Monday, June 11th, 2018) – Walmart, Coca-Cola Bottling Company United and its partner brands – Dr. Pepper, Gold Peak and Powerade – have teamed up to support The First Tee of Greater New Orleans and its out-of-school time programs that teach life skills, character education and healthy habits, through the game of golf.

Walmart and Coca-Cola have each been long-time supporters of The First Tee, both nationally and locally, and this partnership presents a new opportunity for the organizations to collaborate to positively impact the community.

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United and its partner beverage brands will have in-store product displays at over 30 local Walmart stores throughout the month of June that feature information about The First Tee’s summer programs for youth ages 5-18. In addition to the promotion in the local Walmart stores, the beverage brands will make a financial contribution to benefit the non-profit First Tee chapter.

“This is a win-win for The First Tee,” said executive director, Chip Patterson. “Not only will we receive financial support from this program to help support our out-of-school time programs, the opportunity to promote our summer programs in Walmart stores across the region will help us recruit a lot of new youth to The First Tee. We’re extremely thankful to everyone at Walmart, Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, Gold Peak, and Powerade for this opportunity.”

The First Tee of Greater New Orleans currently impacts over 28,000 local youth through its afterschool programs at local golf facilities and outreach partnerships with local school and youth centers.
