First Tee-Greater New Orleans volunteers with Home by Hand for MLK Day of Service

New Orleans, LA — First Tee—Greater New Orleans, in partnership with Landis Construction, is volunteering with Home by Hand, a local nonprofit that develops affordable housing for low-and-moderate income New Orleanians, in honor of MLK Day of Service. First Tee will help complete a landscaping project for one of Home by Hands houses, which will then be sold at market rate with the proceeds going directly towards offsetting purchasing costs for future Home by Hand applicants.

The service day will take place from 9am to 4pm at 1471 Mithra Street. First Tee families, as well as First Tee staff, board members, and supporters, will spend the day planting and sodding the Fillmore property. Landis Construction will be on site as well, lending a hand in the landscaping process and donating supplies such as wheelbarrows and shovels.
As a nonprofit dedicated to equity, First Tee – Greater New Orleans is honored to partner with Home by Hand in this service project on MLK Day.
