Dalton signed a one-year, $3 million deal last March to serve as the Saints backup quarterback only to end up starting 14 games. The 35-year old threw for 2,871 yards, 18 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.
Carolina traded up for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft so Dalton is expected to be a bridge and mentor to whoever is chose as the Panthers franchise quaterback.
New Orleans added Derek Carr in free agency to replace Dalton and retained Jameis Winston to be a backup with a restructured deal.
