Ex-LSU pitcher Ryan Eades signs minor league deal with Astros
Former LSU and Northshore High School right-hander Ryan Eades is returning to pro baseball with the Houston Astros.
Eades, 29, has signed a minor league deal, and the Astros have assigned him to their Triple-A affiliate in Sugar Land, Texas.
A former major leaguer with Twins and Orioles in 2019, Eades posted a 2.38 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 11.1 innings in eight relief appearances. He didn’t pitch in 2020.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder out of Slidell posted a 17-5 career mark in three seasons at LSU with 52 appearances (40 starts) from 2011 to 2013. He was a 2nd round draft choice by the Twins in 2013.
