When you combine all Louisiana football playing teams into one list of power rankings, it is inevitable that the bigger schools in the higher classifications will dominate the rankings.

While that is certainly true of our CrescentCitySports.com preseason power rankings, there are a host of teams below 5A and Division I who are part of those who make our elite list of teams.

While it is always difficult to pick one team as the best in Louisiana, that distinction has to go to Evangel Christian, the defending Division I state champion. With three LSU commits on the squad and a devastating defense, the Eagles sit atop our rankings. Long-time rival and Division I competitor John Curtis Christian is second with defending 4A state champion Edna Karr third, Neville fourth and very talented Warren Easton fifth.
