Episcopal, Catholic, St. Joseph’s top Louisiana Cross Country polls

It is a clear verdict for Episcopal.

The Knights top the latest Louisiana Track and Field Coaches Association Cross Country polls released Monday.

The Episcopal boys top the small school rankings, receiving eight first place votes and 94 points with Academy of The Sacred Heart of New Orleans a close second. The Cardinals received two first place votes. Newman is third with McGehee fourth and Episcopal of Acadiana fifth. Country Day is eighth.

Episcopal tops the girls side in convincing fashion, receiving 100 points and all 10 first place votes. University High is second with E.D. White Catholic third. Erath is fourth and Holy Savior Menard is fifth. Country Day is sixth with Newman ninth.

In the large school rankings, Catholic of Baton Rouge tops the boys poll in unanimous fashion with 100 points and all 10 first place votes. St. Paul’s second with Ruston third, Mandeville fourth and Brother Martin fifth. Jesuit is sixth with Holy Cross seventh while Belle Chasse is tenth.

On the girls side, St. Joseph’s Academy is No. 1. The Redstickers received all 10 first place votes and 100 points. Mandeville is second with Vandebilt Catholic third. Mount Carmel Academy is fourth with Fontainebleau fifth. Dominican is seventh with Cabrini eighth and St. Scholastica at No. 10.
