Elfrid Payton joins elite company with fifth straight triple double
New Orleans Pelicans guard Elfrid Payton placed his name on an exclusive list with NBA legends Monday by recording a triple-double in his fifth straight game.
Payton, a sixth-year veteran out of John Ehret and UL Lafayette, joined Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan to accomplish the feat, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Westbrook has done it four times, Robertson did it three times, and Chamberlain twice.

Having joined the Pelicans on a one-year contract last July, Payton is averaging 10.5 points, 7.3 assists and 5.4 rebounds this season.
