On Tuesday, the Sci High Olympians took the court for their first ever home sporting event on the Sarah T Reed Campus at Einstein Charter High School. Coach Rodney McDonald led his varsity Olympians against the visiting Morris Jeff Pelicans in a packed house.

In a back-and-forth battle that included multiple lead changes, some loose ball scrums, and a couple of exciting plays both at the rim and beyond the arc, it was the visiting Pelicans who walked away victorious by the final score of 51-49. The Olympians got into some foul trouble early that ended up plaguing them down the stretch, but the effort, enthusiasm, and will to win was evident.

“It was a marvelous and historic night for the Einstein Charter Schools family,” Einstein Charter High School Principal Nathan Stockman said. “Although the final result was in favor of the visitors, it was not lost on this crowd that the Einstein Charter High School Olympians Basketball Program is here, is here to stay, and is here to make this school and this community proud.”
