The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates’ bowl performances in its balloting. Since the Manning Award started recognizing Stars of the Week in 2011, 464 different quarterbacks from 129 schools have been recognized. Sixty-six different quarterbacks have been honored during the 2021 season.

This week’s eight Manning Award Stars of the Week are:

Stetson Bennett, Georgia (14-of-20, 255 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 97.2)

Bennett throws for the second-most yards of his career with his 10th 200-yard game as he helps the Bulldogs cap their first undefeated regular season since 1982 with a 45-0 shutout of rival Georgia Tech on the road.

Logan Bonner, Utah State (16-of-23, 312 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 94.9)

Bonner, who tallies the fifth 300-yard game of his career, sets a career-high for touchdown passes as he leads the Aggies to a 35-10 road win over New Mexico to clinch a spot in the Mountain West championship game.

Anthony Brown, Oregon (23-of-28, 275 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 90.2)

Brown, who also runs for 83 yards and a touchdown, leads the Ducks to touchdowns on all four of their first-half possessions as Oregon defeats archrival Oregon State, 38-29, to earn a slot in this weekend’s Pac-12 Championship game.

Chevan Cordeiro, Hawaii (19-of-31, 323 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, QBR: 94.5)

Cordeiro, who also runs for 86 yards and a touchdown, becomes the first Hawaii quarterback to pass for 6,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in his career as he leads the Rainbow Warriors to a 31-7 halftime advantage as they defeat Wyoming, 38-14, in a MW road game.

Matt Corral, Ole Miss (26-of-34, 234 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, QBR: 89.4)

Corral, who also runs for 45 yards and a touchdown, helps the Rebels convert a season-best 11 third-down effort as they snag a 31-21 road win over archrival Mississippi State to secure the first 10-win regular season in Ole Miss history.

Kaleb Eleby, Western Michigan (21-of-26, 338 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 96.1)

Eleby throws for 300 yards for the sixth time in his career and matches his career-best for touchdown passes as he directs the Broncos to a 42-21 road victory over Northern Illinois in MAC action.

Will Levis, Kentucky (14-of-18, 149 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, QBR: 99.3)

Levis runs for career-highs of 113 yards and four touchdowns as he leads the Wildcats to a 52-21 road win over rival Louisville to cap Kentucky’s first nine-win regular season since 2018.

Taulia Tagovailoa, Maryland (21-of-30, 312 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INT, QBR: 90.7)

Tagovailoa, who also runs for a touchdown, sets the school record for single-season passing yards as he leads the Terrapins to a 40-16 Big Ten road win over Rutgers to become bowl-eligible for the first time since 2016.

The Manning Award selected 32 quarterbacks for its preseason Watch List and then added 15 additional quarterbacks in October. Finalists will be announced this Friday (December 3) and the winner is scheduled to be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.

In its first 17 years, the Manning Award has recognized the top names in college football. It has honored quarterbacks from 13 different schools and from four different conferences. The Southeastern Conference (Mac Jones, Joe Burrow, Johnny Manziel, Cam Newton, JaMarcus Russell and Tim Tebow) leads the way with six Manning Award honorees, while the Big 12 Conference (Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, Vince Young, Colt McCoy and Robert Griffin III) has had five winners. The Atlantic Coast Conference (Deshaun Watson twice, Matt Ryan and Jameis Winston) has had four Manning Award winners. LSU (Burrow and Russell), Oklahoma (Murray and Mayfield) and Texas (McCoy and Young) have each had two different winners.

All the Manning Award winners follow in the footsteps of the Mannings themselves. In college, Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning combined for over 25,000 passing yards and 201 touchdowns while playing in 10 bowl games and earning four bowl MVP awards. Archie was the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, while both Peyton and Eli were selected No. 1 overall.
