Eagles coach Doug Pederson has fans in Louisiana prep ranks
The last time Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson was a head coach in a playoff game was 2008, his final year at Calvary Baptist.
That 2008 season marked the second straight time Calvary reached the Class 2A semifinals. Both times, its quest to reach the state title game was stopped by a New Orleans-area school – St. James in 2007 and John Curtis Christian in 2008.
With the Eagles poised to take on the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC Divisional playoff game Saturday in Philadelphia, former St. James coach and Crescent City Sports contributing writer Rick Gaille spoke with Philadelphia Inquirer columnist David Murphy about Pederson and facing his Calvary team in the playoffs.
