Division IV football title game headed back to Dome

For the second time in three years, the schools scheduled to meet in the Division IV state football championship have successfully petitioned the Louisiana High School Athletic Association to move their championship game back to the Superdome.
The LHSAA executive committee voted Wednesday to move the game away from Cajun Field, where select school administrators had placed the Division II and IV title games, to the Dome. Ouachita Christian and Southern Lab will meet Dec. 10 at noon in the first game of a Friday tripleheader that will also include the Class 2A and 4A championship games. The Class 1A, 3A and 5A games are Dec. 11.
A similar action was taken two years ago, the first year that select schools announced plans to move championships in football, basketball and baseball away from the site of the non-select championship games.
The Division I and III championship games are Saturday at Tulane’s Yulman Stadium and the Division II title game is the night of Dec. 10 at Cajun Field.
