Dillard wins all three GCAC Volleyball accolades again

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Dillard University volleyball program has now won all but one of the nine GCAC weekly awards given out for volleyball so far this season as Desire Neal (Attacker), Chloe Young (Defender) and Taylor Hurst (Setter) are this week’s winners.

Neal led the team in kills (14) against Edward Waters College for the fourth straight match while hitting .406. She followed it up with ten kills the next day in another victory over EWC while combining for seven assists, three blocks and three aces for the weekend. Averaged 3.43 kills, 1.57 digs, 0.43 aces and 0.43 blocks per set.

Young fronted the squad in digs for both matches against Edward Waters College with 25 and 11. Her 25 was the third match with at least 20 digs this year and also tallied five assists and an ace in the two games. She averaged 5.14 digs per set.

Hurst topped the club in assists in both matches against Edward Waters with 14 and 27. She’s registered 20-plus assists in four of the eight matches in 2020-21 and posted a double-double in game two where she had 13 digs as well.
