There has been no team in Louisiana more impressive than the Karr Cougars.

After dismantling an outstanding Warren Easton squad last week, the Cougars destroyed an outstanding St. Augustine team 49-7 in a game Saturday night streamed live on Crescent City Sports in the first District 9-5A contest.

Unfortunately for Karr, the Cougars were forced to forfeit three games by the LHSAA, reducing their overall mark to 1-3.

Still, there are certainly no better teams on the field than Karr so the Cougars stay at No. 3 in our latest Crescent City Sports Class 5A Top 10 rankings for week five.

Destrehan continues to dominate and the Wildcats move into the top spot after crushing rival Hahnville, 41-3.

St. Augustine falls to fourth with Zachary fifth. Unbeaten Archbishop Rummel is sixth with Acadiana seventh. Ruston is eighth after a big win over Lafayette Christian. Unbeaten Byrd is ninth after a big win over rival Captain Shreve and John Curtis Christian moves back in at No. 10 after whipping Jesuit.

Defending state champion Westgate moves up to No. 1 in 4A after a 4-0 start. St. Thomas More and Lafayette Christian, both losers to top 5A schools, move to third and fourth with unbeatens Leesville and Teurlings Catholic fifth and sixth, respectively. Warren is seventh with Lutcher eighth, Neville ninth and unbeaten North DeSoto tenth.

Union Parish moves into the top spot in 3A after a record-setting performance by LSU commit Trey Holley, who became the all-time leading rusher in Louisiana prep football history. Defending 2A state champion Amite is second with University Lab up to third. E.D. White Catholic drops to fourth with Church Point now fifth.

Madison Prep and St. James move up to sixth and seventh after wins. Newcomers are unbeatens Pine, Sophie B. Wright and Carroll in the No. 8-10 spots.

Oak Grove moves up to fourth with Notre Dame falling to fifth. St. Charles Catholic drops to sixth with Calvary Baptist seventh. Grand Lake is eighth with Mangham up to ninth and unbeaten Vidalia in at No. 10.

Unbeaten Vermilion Catholic is fourth and Southern Lab is fifth. Unbeaten Glenbrook is moving up to sixth with Logansport seventh and Catholic of Pointe Coupee eighth.
