BATON ROUGE – Catholic High School announces the hiring of Derrick Jones, Catholic High School Class of 1996, as the new head coach of the school’s basketball program.

Jones takes over for fellow CHS Alumnus Mark Cascio ’03, who in his eight years as head coach, led the Bears to three LHSAA Final Four appearances.

Jones says he is thrilled to come back home to the school that helped shape him, both athletically and spiritually, into the man he is today.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to come back home to Catholic High School to work with the incredible faculty, staff, administration, and, most importantly, the students,” Jones says. “The school is a part of who I am, and I am eager to re-immerse myself in the culture that is CHS.”
