KENNER – It was warm and the scores heated up Monday at Chateau Country Club in the 30th Annual Saints Hall of Fame Celebrity Golf Classic.

The event was a sellout for the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic and a smashing success.

The Nicoll’s Limousine team consisting of owner Mike Nicoll, along with Robert Emmett, Steve Calamari, Archie Rodenkirch and New Orleans Saints Head Coach Dennis Allen took home first place in the event with a score of 26 under par 46 in the scramble with par as your friend scoring.

Second place went to the Market Eatz team captained by New Orleans Saints punter Blake Gillikin, which included Brandon McLain, Erik Jokinca, Ezra Angelle and Kevin Fouquier.

Finishing third was a previous Saints Hall of Fame Celebrity Classic winner in the Fore!KidsFoundation squad from the Zurich Classic, led by Executive Director Steve Worthy and New Orleans Saints Super Bowl and NFC championship game hero Garrett Hartley. Other team members included Brent Lemoine, Mike Rodrigue Jr. and Allen Rebstock.

The closest to the hole winner on the par three 11th hole went to Robbie Hazard, who narrowly missed a hole-in-one, landing his tee shot within one foot of the cup.

With 36 groups of four, five or six, the event featured 180 golfers, including many current New Orleans Saints.

Joining Allen and Gillikin were Saints Executive Vice President and General Manager Mickey Loomis, along with Zach Baun, wide receivers coach Kodi Burns, Bryan Edwards, Juwan Johnson, Lonnie Johnson Jr., Cameron Jordan, Lucas Krull, defensive assistant Sterling Moore, Adam Prentice, Rashid Shaheed, Ty Summers, Pete Werner, Zach Wood and Isaac Yiadom.

Saints Hall of Fame inductees, Jim Dombrowski, Kelvin Edwards, Tyrone Hughes, Joe Johnson, Michael Lewis, Fred McAfee and Deuce McAllister played, along with Saints alumni John Fourcade, Skyler Green, Larry Hardy, Jack Holmes, Reggie Jones, Tyrone Legette, Mel Mitchell, Maurice Spencer, Mike Strachan, Daryl Terrell and Emanuel Zanders.

At the awards function in the clubhouse following the event, Allen addressed the crowd, praising the Saints Hall of Fame and all involved before making a suggestion to those present.

“Don’t make any plans for January and early February,” Allen said.

A great day and event could not have had a more appropriate conclusion and encouragement.
