Delgado rallied from a two-run deficit to overcome Erie Community College in a walkoff 4-3 win in the Dolphins’ first game of the 2018 Disney Spring Training Invitational at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.

Delgado scored the game’s first run in ghe first when Brandon Duhon led off the game with a walk, advanced on a stole base and groundout, and scored on a groundout by Blake Way. Erie plated two in the third and a run in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead, which they carried to the ninth.

Grant Schulz kicked off the ninth with a double and Lyall Ball reached as a hit batter. Gabe Gravois walked to load the bases with two outs before an infield error allowed Brady Newman to reach safely while plating two Delgado runs to tie the score 3-3. Newman stole second and advanced to third when Brandon Duhon was hit by pitch to load the bases. The Dolphins’ fourth and winning run came during the next at-bat when Brandon Briuglio reached as a hit batter to allow Delgado’s 4-3 victory.

Dwain Varisco picked up the win in relief of starter Mason Mayfield, who pitched seven complete innings.

Delgado will face Morton College on Friday in a 6:30 doubleheader at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
