Delgado Community College and First District American Legion Baseball are pleased to partner to host the 2018 American Legion Baseball Mid-South Regional. The regional features the state champion from Louisiana and six surrounding states including Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and First District champion and host team Retif Oil and Fuel based at Jesuit High School.

The eight-team, double elimination tournament begins on Wednesday, August 8 and will run through Sunday, August 12 with the winner advancing to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina beginning on August 16.

Games will be played at historic “Rags” Scheuermann Field at Kirsch-Rooney Stadium, which has hosted American Legion baseball each of its sixty-one summers of operation. Players and coaches will attend a Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening prior to tournament play opening on Wednesday morning.

Delgado Chancellor Joan Davis adds “Delgado and American Legion Baseball share a strong partnership thanks to our mutual love of the communities we serve. We salute American Legion’s commitment to our country and the program’s continued commitment to these young men and their future.
