Delgado falls to Pensacola State 10-2 Friday to open weekend series

Delgado fell to Pensacola State 10-2 Friday night in the Dolphins’ first of four games this weekend in Pensacola, Florida.

Pensacola State posted five runs in the third inning after stringing together two singles, a two run double, a walk, and a three run homerun by Braeden Plain. Delgado cut the lead by two runs on two solo shots by Jacob Singletary and Logan O’Neill in the fourth.

In the bottom of the inning, Pensacola State’s Preston Herce and Carter McCulley each homered to add two Pirate runs. Andreaus Lewis’ three run homerun in the sixth sealed the Pensacola State win.

Chris Olivier suffered his first loss of the season with Cole Randazzo, Caleb Dreux, and Remy Marsh appearing in relief.

Delgado (12-3) will face Frontier College at 10:00 Saturday followed by a 1:00 game against Coastal Alabama at Pirate Park. Delgado and Pensacola State will meet Sunday at 1:00 to close the weekend.
