Two-sport star Logan Bertucci of Archbishop Rummel is the third Raider senior to sign a baseball scholarship with Delgado in the last few days.

Bertucci, who started at fullback for Rummel as a sophomore and junior, started at linebacker this past season for Nick Monica.

In baseball, Bertucci was the starting first baseman for Frank Cazeaux’s Raiders.

A three-year starter in baseball, Bertucci batted .310 and had two home runs and led the Raiders with 33 RBI and stole five bases.

“I enjoyed having Logan the last two years,” Cazeaux said. “He did a heck of a job for us. I enjoyed watching him play football and transfer over to baseball. He is a natural leader, did an outstanding job for us. Even when things weren’t going well, he was always working hard and was positive. He will play for a fine coach in Joe Scheuermann and will continue to get better by working harder every time he goes out there.”

Bertucci is playing for the Gibbs Construction American Legion squad this summer.
