Curtis, STM, EDW, SCC, OCS retain top spots in CCS Week 4 state rankings

The top-ranked teams remain the same in each class in Week 4 of our CrescentCitySports.com Louisiana Prep Football state rankings.

John Curtis Christian returned from an off week and blitzed a solid Santaluces, Florida squad 55-21 to retain the top spot in 5A as J.T. Curtis moved to within four games of tying the all-time record of the late John McKissick of Summerville, South Carolina, for the most wins in United States prep football history.

Destrehan holds on to second after rallying past East Ascension 21-7. You can watch the replay, always free, at CrescentCitySports.com. Karr is a very strong third and could easily be second or first after demolishing an excellent Warren Easton team 48-14. Zachary is fourth after an impressive 17-7 win over St. Augustine with Carencro fifth after a thrilling 19-14 win over Southside in the final minute.

Ruston is sixth with Acadiana seventh. High-scoring Airline moves up to eighth with West Monroe moving into ninth and Catholic of Baton Rouge falling to tenth.

St. Thomas More remains on top in 4A after handling Brother Martin 41-7. The Cougars host Catholic of Baton Rouge this Friday. Lafayette Christian remains a strong second after ripping Jesuit 51-18. The Knights travel to Ruston this week. Neville moves up to third after a strong win over Huntington and Westgate is fourth after a very good win over Evangel Christian. Warren Easton falls to fifth.

North DeSoto is now sixth with Lutcher seventh. Teurlings Catholic falls to eighth. Tioga is ninth with Franklin Parish tenth.

E.D. White Catholic stays in the top spot in 3A with University Lab a close second after a big win over Catholic of Baton Rouge. Sterlington is third with St. James fourth and Jena fifth. Madison Prep is sixth with Amite seventh and Westlake now eighth. Union Parish is ninth and Marksville moves in at No. 10.

St. Charles Catholic remains the No. 1 team in 2A after showing its strength in a 48-20 win over Teurlings Catholic. Calvary Baptist is a very strong second with Newman now third and the Greenies host Many this Friday. Dunham and Notre Dame move up to the fourth and fifth spots.

Many is sixth after a thrilling overtime win over Haughton with Oakdale seventh. Northlake Christian moves up to eighth with Loreauville ninth and Oak Grove tenth.

Ouachita Christian is still on top in 1A with Vermilion Catholic second. Homer is third with Southern Lab fourth and Kentwood now fifth. Haynesville is sixth and the Golden Tors host Glenbrook in a showdown of top-ranked teams Friday night. High scoring St. Martin’s Episcopal seventh. Ascension Catholic is eighth with Glenbrook ninth and Riverside Academy moving in at No. 10.
