Curtis boys, Karr girls fare well in Last Chance Qualifier indoor meet

It was a good day for the John Curtis Christian boys and the Edna Karr girls at the Last Chance Qualifier indoor Track and Field meet at Carl Maddox Field House at LSU.

The Curtis boys dominated the competition, claiming four victories.

Corey Wren took first in the 60-yard dash in a Maddox Field House record time of 6.80. Zachary Barthel of the Patriots took first in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:34.77. Zachariah Blake won the shot put with a heave of 54 feet, two inches and the Patriots captured first in the 4×200 relay in a time of 1:30.71.

Edna Karr claimed two victories in the girls competition. Alacia Myles won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, six inches. The Cougars won the 4×200 relay in a time of 1:46:43.

May Nusloch of Academy of the Sacred Heart of New Orleans won the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:16.64 and St. Katharine Drexel won the 4×400 relay in a time of 4:07.47.
