NEW ORLEANS – The rivalry matchup between Isidore Newman and Metairie Park Country Day will be live streamed by Crescent City Sports Friday night.

Coverage from Wenzel Field on the Country Day campus in Old Metairie will begin just prior to the 6 p.m. kickoff. Lenny Vangilder and Wayde Keiser will describe the action.

Whether as district foes or in a non-district matchup, the Greenies (1-0) and Cajuns (0-1) have been regulars on each other’s schedules. Newman has won the last two meetings, including a 27-7 victory last year at Lupin Field.

Newman is led by quarterback Arch Manning, who accounted for more than 300 yards and all four touchdowns in the Greenies’ season-opening 28-0 victory over Vandebilt Catholic last Friday. Manning – the top player in the latest 247Sports composite rankings of this year’s junior class – was 18-of-34 for 258 yards and three TDs passing and rushed for 48 yards and another score.

Country Day’s second-half rally fell just short in a 25-20 loss to Episcopal in its opener last Friday. Quarterback Michael Talbot passed for three second-half touchdowns for the Cajuns, while Scott Isacks rushed for 173 yards.

Newman is No. 3 in the latest Crescent City Sports Class 2A rankings.

The Crescent City Sports team is in its 11th season of producing live broadcasts for television and internet, having produced more than 340 live streams since 2012, and is continuing its extensive commitment to prep sports coverage on its website for 2021-22. Additionally, in cooperation with Cox Sports Television, CCS will also produce additional events that will both be televised on CST and streamed on the site.
