CCS Sportsmakers podcastNEW ORLEANS – Crescent City Sports is debuting a new podcast this week featuring some of the most newsworthy sports figures in Louisiana visiting in casual conversations with members of the CCS team.

The premiere episode of the “Crescent City Sportsmakers” Podcast, presented by Southland Plumbing, goes live Thursday, featuring Ken Trahan’s chat with legendary high school football coach Frank Monica, who announced his retirement earlier this year after more than two decades at St. Charles Catholic High School and a half-century in coaching.

Like many in the River Parishes, Monica is facing a new challenge of rebuilding his home in the wake of Hurricane Ida. Still, he will have a watchful eye on area football fields this fall, with son Nick in his third year as head coach at Archbishop Rummel, and nephew Wayne Stein succeeding him as head coach and athletic director of the Comets.

The fast-paced podcast features Trahan, Lenny Vangilder and Jude Young chatting with guests each week from the prep, college and professional ranks. New episodes will debut each Thursday morning throughout the football season.
