TAMPA, Fla. – Tulane men’s basketball (17-7, 10-3) won its fifth straight game with a 84-66 win over South Florida on Saturday night in the Yuengling Center.

The Green Wave’s 10 AAC wins ties the team’s total from last season with five games left remaining in the regular season.

Jalen Cook scored a career-high 30 points, adding seven assists and five rebounds.

Kevin Cross recorded his second straight double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds; the junior also dished out six assists. Jaylen Forbes joined Cross and Cook in double figures with 15 points.

Tulane turned the ball over a season-low four times, while stealing the ball 11 times.

The Wave got off to a slow start, not hitting a single three in the entire first half or recording single offensive rebound. Cook was the only spark, with 17 points and five assists in the first half. Tulane would head to the locker room with a 35-31 lead.

Forbes would draw first blood in the second half draining Tulane’s first three pointer of the game. South Florida would try to stick around but back-to-back threes from Tulane would put them up 14 midway through the half.

Tulane heads to Houston next Tuesday with a 8 p.m. tip time.
