Commiskey, Hebert, Jernigan, Favre, Brown to speak Tuesday at GNO QB Club

Chuck Commiskey

Former New Orleans Saints guard Chuck Commiskey, former LSU offensive lineman and radio personality T-Bob Hebert, Tulane defensive analyst Johnny Jernigan, Slidell coach Larry Favre and East St. John coach Brandon Brown will speak at the weekly meeting of the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club Tuesday, Nov. 12 at noon at Rock’n’Bowl, 3016 South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans.

After starring at Ole Miss, Commiskey starred in the USFL as well before joining the New Orleans Saints in 1986, playing for New Orleans for three seasons. Commisley was part of the Saints’ first-ever winning season and playoff appearance in 1987.

T-Bob HebertHebert was an excellent offensive lineman at LSU, where he was an Honor Roll student, graduating in 2011. He played in 42 games for the Tigers. He now serves as the host of Off The Bench on ESPN 104.5 FM in Baton Rouge. LSU.

Johnny JerniganIn his fourth season as a defensive analyst and recruiting at Tulane, Jernigan has been with Willie Fritz since 2010, having worked previously at Georgia Southern, Sam Houston, Murray State, Tennessee-Martin, Henderson State and Kilgore College. Jernigan played at Tyler Junior College and Stephen F. Austin.

Larry FavreIn his seventh season as head coach at Slidell, Favre previously guided Fontainebleau to the state semifinals in 2004, going 48-28 in seven seasons. He was the head coach at O. Perry Walker from 1996-2000. At Slidell, Favre has taken the Tigers to the playoffs four times. Slidell is 8-2 and champion of District 6-5A. The Tigers are the 6th-seed in the 5A state playoffs and will host No. 27 Comeaux Friday night.

Brandon BrownIn his second season at his alma mater, Brown has the Wildcats in the Class 5A playoffs this Friday as the 24th-seed and will play at Central Friday night. Previously, he guided St. Helena to a state championship game appearance. After playing at East St. John, Brown played at Alcorn State.

The Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club meets each Tuesday (17 weeks) at Rock’n’Bowl through Dec.17, when the club will hold its year-end awards function.

Each week, an R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Prep Player of the Week is chosen, presented by CrescentCitySports.com and NASH ICON 106.1 FM while The King Firm Scholar-Athlete award winner will also be introduced, presented by Friday Night Football from NOLA 38 and WGNO.

A pick-em contest of top college and professional games allows patrons to win prizes from Rock’n’Bowl and Ye Olde College Inn, as well as from the Saints Hall of Fame.

Annual membership to the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club is $50 per person, which includes a discounted $20 lunch from Rock’n’Bowl and Ye Olde College Inn. Non-members are also welcome to attend each week for $30.
