Justyn Ross

Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross will miss the 2020 season and his career is in doubt.

The rising junior could be forced to retire after an x-ray leading into surgery for a “lingering stinger symptoms” showed his back and spine requires congenital fusion which is possibly career-ending.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Ross is a top 15 2021 draft prospect who had 66 catches for 865 yards and 8 touchdowns this past season.

Another star college receiver is on the move.

North Texas wide receiver Rico Bussey is transferring to Hawaii as a graduate transfer. He will be eligible to play this coming season.

Bussey (6-2, 190) had 68 catches for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2018 for the Mean Green and was a top conference USA draft prospect for 2020 but he tore an ACL and played in only three games during the 2019 season.

The Georgia Bulldogs should be in good shape at the quarterback position for multiple seasons despite losing Jake Fromm to the NFL draft.

Jamie Newman, a grad transfer from Wake Forest, is a solid player at the position to lead the offense in 2020. A good season can cement Newman as a first round pick.

Georgia also should be in good hands after Newman departs now that  J.T. Daniels has decided to transfer from USC. Daniels started for the Trojans as a freshman in 2018 but tore an ACL and did not play much in 2019. He will have to sit out the 2020 season but will have two years of eligibility left.
