Mitchell Robinson

McDonalds All-America big man Mitchell Robinson of Chalmette has planned visit to the University of New Orleans Wednesday, sources confirm to Crescent City Sports.

Robinson, who signed with and had enrolled at Western Kentucky, left the school last month and has since been given a conditional release from WKU. He visited LSU earlier this month and Kansas last weekend, though multiple reports last week indicated the Tigers are no longer recruiting Robinson.

Regardless of where Robinson ends up, he will need to get a waiver from the NCAA to be eligible for the 2017-18 season because he enrolled in summer classes and participated in team activities at WKU.

Robinson, who also played in the Jordan Brand all-star game last spring, averaged 25.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and six blocked shots per game as a senior at Chalmette, leading the Owls to the Class 5A semifinals.
