CCS State Rankings: St. Charles Catholic jumps back into top 10 while No. 1 teams stay same

St. Charles Catholic

With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the top teams in the Crescent City Sports top 10 rankings remain on top.

In Class 5A, unbeaten Destrehan continued its dominance of opponents and stays in the top spot ahead of a District 7-5A showdown with unbeaten and seventh-ranked East St. John this Friday night.

Catholic of Baton Rouge escaped an upset bid by Woodlawn of Baton Rouge to remain second while Karr, after destroying another opponent, remains the most impressive team in the state and is third. Zachary moves up to fourth and Ruston is now fifth.

John Curtis Christian moves up to sixth after a big win over St. Augustine, who falls to 10th. West Monroe is eighth with Southside ninth.

In 4A, St. Thomas More solidified the top spot with a big win over Teurlings Catholic, who slips a spot to third. Unbeaten De La Salle is second with Warren Easton fourth and Lafayette Christian fifth. Lutcher is sixth, followed by unbeatens North DeSoto and West Feliciana. Neville is ninth with Westgate falling to 10th.

In 3A, Union Parish holds on in the top spot after a narrow 21-20 win over Richwood. E.D. White Catholic is second with unbeaten Church Point third. St. James is fourth and Carroll is fifth. University Lab is sixth with Madison Prep seventh. Bogalusa, Parkview Baptist and John F. Kennedy round out the top 10.

In 2A, unbeaten Many remains unbeaten and on top with Newman second. Calvary Baptist is third with Dunham fourth and unbeaten Welsh fifth. Mangham is sixth with Notre Dame seventh. Episcopal is eighth with Rosepine ninth and St. Charles Catholic back into the rankings at No. 10.

In 1A, Ouachita Christian remains on top after a good win over rival Cedar Creek. Kentwood is second with Homer third. Unbeaten Vermilion Catholic is fourth and unbeaten Glenbrook fifth. Riverside Academy is sixth with Southern Lab seventh. Haynesville is eighth with Central Catholic ninth and Ascension Catholic 10th.
