CCS Louisiana Prep Football Rankings: Zachary, Brother Martin, East St. John, Carver among upward movers

Several teams have made moves up in this week’s CrescentCitySports.com Top 10 rankings statewide while the top-ranked teams remain the same in each class.

In 5A, Acadiana posted another solid win, beating a good Ruston squad to hold on to the top spot. Zachary moves up to second while Brother Martin moves up to third off of a big win over Archbishop Rummel. Catholic of Baton Rouge and John Curtis Christian round out the top five. West Monroe is now sixth with Scotlandville up to seventh. Rummel falls to eighth, East St. John is now in at No. 9 and Ruston is tenth.

Karr had an off week and remains No. 1 in Class 4A with St. Thomas More second. Carencro is third with Northwood fourth and Minden fifth. Tioga is No. 6 with Warren Easton seventh. Neville is egith with Vandebilt Catholic ninth and Carver cracks the rankings at No. 10.

De La Salle maintains the top spot in Class 3A after a huge win over St. Charles Catholic. Madison Prep is second with St. James third after a thrilling win over Lutcher. Union Parish is a solid fourth with University High fifth. Unbeatens Jennings, Lake Charles College Prep and Church Point are sixth, seventh and eighth. Unbeaten Jewel Sumner moves into the rankings at No. 9 while Sterlington falls to tenth.

Notre Dame continues to sit atop the 2A rankings with Ferriday second. Lafayette Christian moves up to third and Many climbs to fourth with Newman up to fifth. Unbeaten Episcopal goes up to sixth with St. Charles Catholic falling to seventh. Unbeatens Mangham, Loreauville and Ascension Episcopal round out the top ten.

Ouachita Christian continues to lead the way in 1A with Oak Grove second and Haynesville third. Logansport is fourth and Calvary Baptist is now fifth. Vermilion Catholic is sixth with unbeaten Riverside Academy seventh. Unbeatens Ascension Catholic and East Iberville are eighth and ninth and Cedar Creek is now tenth.
