Area Prep Soccer Report for Tuesday, Jan. 25

Catholic of Baton Rouge, St. Thomas More, Holy Cross, Lusher Charter and Pope John Paul II top the latest Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings released Monday.

The Bears top Division I and received all 10 first-place votes with St. Amant second and St. Paul’s third. Jesuit is fourth with Sulphur fifth. Archbishop Rummel fell to seventh and Brother Martin is No. 9.

St. Thomas More and Holy Cross are tied for first in Division II, though the Cougars received four first-place votes to three for the Tigers. Ben Franklin received one first-place vote and is third with East Jefferson fourth and Neville fifth. Bonnabel is seventh.

Lusher Charter is the top-ranked team in Division III. The Lions received five first-place votes to edge University High for the top spot. The Cubs got four first-place votes. Vandebilt Catholic is third with Bossier fourth and St. Louis Catholic fifth. New Orleans Military & Maritime is seventh and Archbishop Hannan is tenth.

Pope John Paul II is the No. 1 team in Division IV. The Jaguars received six first-place votes. Episcopal is second with Northlake Christian third and Episcopal of Acadiana fourth. Newman is fifth with Morris Jeff Community eighth and St. Martin’s Episcopal tenth.
