Catholic, St. Joseph’s capture Division I state swim titles

It was a clean sweep Saturday for Baton Rouge schools in the LHSAA Division I state swim meet at the YMCA in Shreveport.

Catholic High of Baton Rouge won the boys Division I state championship in solid fashion with Jesuit finishing second. St. Paul’s was third.

The Bears won the 200 medley relay, along with 200 yard freestyle relay and the 400 relay.

Mitchell Gillem of Catholic won the 50 freestyle and Will Cooper took first in the 500 freestyle for the Bears.

Phillip Endom of Jesuit captured the 200 individual medley as well as the 100 yard backstroke.

Hunter Bullis of Northshore won the 100 breaststroke.

St. Joseph’s took home first in the girls Division I competition with Mandeville second. Dominican finished fourth.

Amanda Andrews of the Redstickers took first in the 100 butterfly.

Mandeville won the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle.
