NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana’s Carina Chargois was announced Monday as Red River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week in softball for April 11-17.

Chargois — a freshman right-hander from Kaplan, La., and a graduate of Kaplan High School — was 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00 in two road starts. Chargois threw seven-inning complete games in a 7-0 victory at Southeastern Baptist and a 5-1 RRAC victory at Louisiana Christian. Chargois allowed seven hits, walked three and struck out eight.

In her last seven appearances, which covers 46 innings, Chargois is 6-1 with an ERA of 0.91.

XULA, 18-25 overall and 12-12 in the conference, will play two RRAC home doubleheaders this week at Wesley Barrow Stadium: 1 p.m. Friday against Houston-Victoria and noon Saturday against Huston-Tillotson.
