‘Cakes beat Cubs 5-1

Des Moines, IA – Cito Culver drilled a three home run and added another RBI in the seventh inning as the ‘Cakes defeated the Iowa Cubs 5-1 to snap a seven game losing streak.

Sandy Alcantara earned the win pitching seven innings and allowed one run on five hits.

The ‘Cakes trailed 1-0 after four innings when the ‘Cakes offense came alive. New Orleans strung together four consecutive hits capped by the Culver three run home run.

The ‘Cakes wrapped up a 2-7 road-trip winning the first and last game of the series.
