LAFAYETTE – Senior defensive back Tracy Walker became the second Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football player in as many seasons to compete in the annual East-West Shrine Game when he accepted an invitation with the organization on Saturday.

The 93rd annual East-West Shrine Game will be played on Jan. 20, 2018 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Walker, who joins current New York Jets running back Elijah McGuire as former Cajuns selected to play, led Louisiana with a career-high 97 tackles in 2017 and earned third-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors.

The Brunswick, Ga., native led the Ragin’ Cajuns in interceptions and ranked among the national FBS leaders in solo tackles per game. Walker recorded 10 or more tackles in three games during the season with a career-best 15 stops coming in his collegiate finale at Appalachian State.

Walker recorded 14 stops against Georgia Southern and had interceptions in games against Texas A&M and Texas State.
