Cabrini sweeps through Catholic League Volleyball Tournament

It was a superb weekend for Cabrini in the Catholic League Volleyball Tournament over the weekend.

The Crescents handled De La Salle 25-19, 25-14, defeated Ascension Catholic 25-18, 25-16, downed a good Archbishop Chapelle squad 22-25, 25-13, 15-10, rallied to avenge a previous loss to Archbishop Hannan 13-25, 25-10, 15-12 and defeated St. Scholastica 25-9 25-22.

It was a team effort throughout.

Jennifer Brue totaled 128 assists and six aces, Kai Williams put away 65 kills and had six blocks, Jaylin St. Martin had 18 kills and seven blocks, Rachel Sensebe had 23 kills, Lily Marlowe finished with 51 digs, Hope Lalla had 41 digs and Raylyn Mornay had 14 kills and five blocks to pace the Crescents, who rebounded from tough losses to four-time defending Division I state champion Mount Carmel and Hannan.

Cabriini (8-2) will host four-time defending Division IV state champion Pope John Paul II Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
