Byrd Football Game Notes – Game No. 2 vs. Moss Point Tigers (Battle on the Border)
The Byrd Yellow Jackets and the Moss Point (Miss.) Tigers will participate in the seventh annual Landers Dodge Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Independence Stadium.
Yellow Jackets football is broadcast live on AM 1130 The Tiger, except this week because Byrd will be playing at the same time as the LSU Tigers. As a result, the Byrd game will be tape-delayed on 1130 The Tiger. However, fans can listen to the Byrd game LIVE online at www.1130thetiger.com and clicking the listen live link. Smartphone users can download the RadioPup app, select Shreveport, La. and then choose 1130 The Tiger to listen to the game live as well. Each week there will be an in-stadium frequency posted for a live “raw feed” of the game on an FM frequency. The Moss Point game can be heard inside Independence Stadium on 105.1 FM.
I am in my 20th season as the “Voice of the Byrd Yellow Jackets” calling the play-by-play action of Byrd football. Former Yellow Jacket defensive back Timmy Brown joins me in the booth as the color analyst, while veteran broadcaster Marty Johnson provides sideline reports. Statisticians are Steve and Noah Baker.
