Brother Martin fined, placed on probation by LHSAA for recruiting violations

Brother Martin High School has been fined $1,000 and placed on one year of probation by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association for violation of recruiting rules.

The LHSAA released their decision Wednesday and indicated that Brother Martin has planned to appeal the ruling.

Along with the fine, the probation period lasts until August 20, 2019. Crusaders head coach Brother Martin head coach Mark Bonis is required to complete the LHSAA/NFHS online fundamentals of coaching course.

Another LHSAA school reported Bonis and Brother Martin for the alleged violations.
