KELLY PRESS CONFERENCE TRANSCRIPT

LSU head coach Brian Kelly said Monday he has chosen a starting quarterback for the 2022 season opener.

However, he did not say who it is.

“We’ve made a decision, but I’m not going to announce it publicly,” Kelly stated in the first of his weekly in-season press conferences.

The first year Tigers coach noted he is holding the information back back as a “tactical advantage” leading up to Sunday night’s matchup with Florida State in the Caesars Superdome.

“Florida State played a game and that’s an advantage for them. The advantage for us is that we haven’t played,” Kelly said.

The Seminoles defeated FCS program Duquesne this past Saturday night in Tallahassee, 47-7.

One of Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels or redshirt freshman Garrett Nussmeier will be the starter. True freshman Walker Howard will likely redshirt this season.
