Brian Babin and family

Pope John Paul II High School is excited to announce coach Brian Babin will be joining the Jaguar family for the 21-22 school year. He will be coaching both boys basketball and baseball at PJP.

Babin comes to PJP after 10 successful years at Salmen High School, along with 15 years total of high school teaching and coaching experience including high school basketball at Salmen. Brian will take on the role as Head Boys Basketball Coach for the Jaguars, replacing Austin Puntila, who will remain our Head Girls Basketball Coach.

Babin will be also be assisting Coach Couvillion with duties and responsibilities for our baseball program. Brian played college baseball at Delgado, Holmes Community College, Brewton-Parker College and the University of Louisiana Lafayette where he was part of the Ragin’ Cajuns’ 2000 College World Series team.

Babin’s background in teaching, strong Catholic faith, and passion for high school athletics is a perfect fit for PJP. He is a practicing Catholic that has six children and resides in Slidell, La.

The Pope John Paul II community is thrilled to have Coach Babin join us next year, and we are looking forward to the impact he will have in our school and the PJP community.
