Drew Brees already holds too many records to count – all on the football field. But what about most autographs at a book signing?

In the inaugural edition of Peter King’s new NBC column “Football Morning in America,” while at a book tour event with Super Bowl winning quarterback Nick Foles, King asked veteran book publicist Todd Starowitz the most number of books he had seen signed at one event.

Starowitz said he saw Brees sign 1,950 copies of his book, “Coming Back Stronger,” at a 2010 event in Houma.

“In two-and-a-half hours,” Starowitz said. “Maybe 2:15.” King calculated that would be one book every 5.5 seconds.

Asked Foles, “Whoa? Did he make eye contact?”

“A little,” Starowitz said. “His signature turned from Drew Brees to DB9, he was doing it so fast.”
