Bramlett, Barnes, Byrns named to preseason Ray Guy Award watch list

Jay Bramblett of LSU, Jacob Barnes of Louisiana Tech and Rhys Byrns of Louisiana-Lafayette are among the 48 punters nationwide named to the 2022 Ray Guy Award Pre-Season Watch List, the Augusta Sports Council announced on Wednesday.

Bramblett transferred to LSU in the offseason from Notre Dame.

Barnes, who has also been named to the 2022 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Watch List, is a native of Baton Rouge out of Woodlawn.

Byrns, a Rye, Australia native, ranked first in the Sun Belt and 11th in the nation in 2022 with 46.3 yards average with 19 attempts of over 50 yards and 22 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.
