Boys/Co-Ed Bowling: Shaw, Slidell remain undefeated

KENNER – Archbishop Shaw and Slidell each remained undefeated in high school bowling action Monday at AMF All Star Lanes.

The Eagles defeated Holy Cross 26-1 to improve to 3-0.

Riley Elwood – fresh off a win in the under-18 boys division of the Louisiana Grand Prix tournament Sunday in Houma – led the Eagles with a 210 average for two games, including an opening-game 229. All nine Shaw bowlers in action bowled two games.

Cody Miller led Holy Cross (2-2) with a 457 series.

Slidell 25, De La Salle 2: The Tigers got off to a fast start and rolled to a victory over the Cavaliers.

Hunter Mullen’s 234 game keyed an opening-game sweep for Slidell (2-0). Mullen finished with a 577 series.

Brandt Haynes paced De La Salle (1-3) with a 521 series.

John Ehret 21, Belle Chasse 6: At Westside Lanes in Harvey, the Patriots broke open a close match in the final game to defeat the Cardinals.

Ehret (2-2) led 11-5 after two games but had only an 81-pin edge in total pins, but led by Matthew Nguyen’s 227 from the anchor spot, the Patriots pulled away by winning seven of eight points in the final game.

Nguyen led Ehret with a 568 series. Bryce Shepherd paced Belle Chasse (0-3) with a 504 set.
