Boys/Co-Ed Bowling: Destrehan defeats Hahnville; Holy Cross, Kenner Discovery grab wins

While many of the New Orleans region’s top boys bowling programs headed to Gonzales Monday, a rivalry in every sport was taking place on the lanes for the first time.

At Colonial Lanes in Harahan, the battle of St. Charles Parish’s co-ed bowling teams went to Destrehan in a 22-5 victory over Hahnville.

The Wildcats (4-3) got a 611 series from Logan Cannon and a 205 opening game as part of a 533 series from Bailey Ecroyd.

Lucien Michel’s 150 final game was the best of the day for the Tigers (0-8), who got a pair of points from Tyron Martin.

Holy Cross 18, Pope John Paul II 9: The Tigers rallied for a victory over the Jaguars at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

Holy Cross (4-3) was down 7-1 after the first game, but took seven of eight points in each of the final two games.

Gabe Lucroy’s 518 series, including a 210 middle game, led Holy Cross. Jack Kingman led Pope John Paul (2-4) with a 480 series.

Kenner Discovery 25, East Jefferson 2: The Swamp Owls defeated the Warriors at AMF.

Kaare Smith had a 477 series to lead Kenner Discovery (6-1).

Gunner Frazier’s opening-game 160 was the best of the day for East Jefferson (0-7).
