Boys Bowling: Shaw stays unbeaten with win over Holy Cross

Archbishop Shaw swept all eight points in the second game to clinch the match as the Eagles remained unbeaten Wednesday with a 23-4 victory over Holy Cross at Westside Lanes in Harvey.

Shaw (4-0) took a 6-2 lead after game one behind a 224 from Jonathan Freeman, and Freeman’s 239 and Andrew Hill’s 223 propelled a 1,137 in game two for the Eagles as they clinched the match with a 14-2 lead. Hill had a final-game 233.

Freeman, who came in averaging 208, had a 656 series to lead Shaw, while Hill was just behind with a 649.

Holy Cross (2-2) was led by Landon Lucroy’s 517 series. Cody Miller scored two of the Tigers’ four points.

The match was originally scheduled for Monday but postponed 48 hours.
