Boys Bowling: Shaw, Chalmette, Holy Rosary, Salmen open with wins
Archbishop Shaw used a balanced effort to defeat Jesuit 20-7 in the headline match on the opening day of the high school bowling season Thursday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.
Matthew Collins had a 587 series, Dylan Chesterman a 581 and Cadence Chesterman a 574 for the Eagles. Peyton Hidalgo led the Blue Jays with a 556.
In other matches at AMF, Chalmette topped Bonnabel 20-7, Holy Rosary defeated Holy Cross 19.5-7.5 and Salmen’s co-ed team knocked off Archbishop Rummel 20-7.
The top individual performance of the day came from Holy Rosary’s Alex Dupuy, who rolled a 709 series on games of 277, 215 and 217.
Austin Savoie paced Chalmette with a 563. Brandon Nguyen led Salmen with a 624.
