Boys Bowling: Rummel, Holy Cross take convincing victories

Archbishop Rummel’s bowling team defeated Pope John Paul II 25-2 Monday at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner.

The Raiders (7-3) closed with an 1,140 game for a 3,091 team series. Ben Mayer led Rummel with a 567 series.

Anthony Pham had a 209 opening game as part of a 482 series for the Jaguars (2-8).

Rummel started Monday at No. 24 in the unofficial LHSAA power ratings.

Holy Cross 24, East Jefferson 3: Also at AMF, the Tigers won all eight points in the opening game and never looked back in defeating the Warriors.

Holy Cross (6-3) got a team-best 528 series from Jackson Haro. Cornelius Piper had a 201 final game as part of a 460 series for East Jefferson (0-9).

Holy Cross entered Monday just on the outside of the postseason, at No. 36 in the unofficial LHSAA power ratings.
