Boys Bowling: Rummel, Holy Cross rack up dominant victories

Archbishop Rummel’s bowling team won its third straight match to open the 2021 season, defeating Pope John Paul II 26-1 Thursday at Bowling USA in Slidell.

The Raiders (3-0) had a 2,941 team series. Hayden Cantillo fired an opening 212 and Matthew Fletcher had back-to-back 197 games to lead Rummel.

Hadley Zimmerle’s middle game 154 produced the lone point for the Jaguars (0-3).

Holy Cross 26, Crescent City Christian 1: At AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner, the Tigers picked up a second straight convincing victory, downing the Pioneers.

Adam Popich led the Tigers (2-0) with a 605 series, opening with a 215 game and finishing with a 209.

Greg Storms had a final-game 189 for Crescent City (0-3), while Josh Lacayo picked up the lone match victory.
